Terribly disappointing. The protangonist is thoroughly unlikeable. Some of the secondary characters are very interesting, but, while fascinating snippets of their lives are often alluded to - those lives are never examined. (Well, what did happen in Donna's abusive first marriage?) The plot is - a non runner. The book is very well read by Linda Emonds, and, sadly, that tends to keep the listener with the book much longer than this mediocre novel deserves.
