Immunization Gets Provincial Boost

Rate this:
The province's immunization program got a booster shot with the addition of $8 million in funding over the next two years to help health regions immunize their residents. Health Minister Dave Hancock announced the funding Friday, noting some Albertans are still at risk of serious and sometimes fatal diseases that could be prevented by immunization. Chinook Health will receive $482,000, an amount determined by population size and the proportion of children, seniors, low socio-economic groups and the number of people living an hour or more from a hospital.
