Standardized Fees In Rural Fire Halls Cut Down Calls

Book
Rate this:
In 2000, all fire departments within the county of Lethbridge implemented the same standard fee structure for emergency services. County residents doing controlled burns must call and notife central fire dispatch before they begin burning. If they fail to do so and the fire department is subsequently called out, those residents are billed $100. The fees increase for consecutive offences. A flat fee of $300 is charged when fire crews respond to uncontrolled fires of any kind.
