If you are interested in the history of popular music during the early-to-mid 20th century, then, this in-depth documentary gives you the whole story of how it all happened right up to that point in time.
From ragtime, to jazz, to swing, to folk, to country, and, of course, to rock'n'roll - "All You Need Is Love" traces the origins of popular music right back to the jungles of Africa and its primitive tribes banging on drums.
This series was informative, engaging and at times very disturbing. A musician's life is not simple, but to the listener the history behind his/her/their creations is often obscure. This look at the evolution of popular music has some surprises, many light moments and many more that are sobering. It is well worth the time invested - 5 DVDs.
Not enough music, , to much blah, blah. And many people are not identified with their names under their face. Sure, we know the big stars but many of the people in this are not recognizable.
