I read this as a teen and it scares the hell outta me.
I'll give it another go soon and update my review
Well I read this book almost 30 years ago and I had the same reaction as Winnipeg here. Since then though I've matured a lot and I've met a lot of real life pigs and I can say this; " Pigs are not evil".
I was reading this book in bed when my husband was at work, working nights. It was so scary I had to put it down & sleep with the lights on. Don't even care if the story is true or not. Between the story & the writing - they don't come any scarier!
Whether or not the Lutz's story is accurate or fabricated, the book in itself paints a horribly freaky vibe throughout. If you aren't too practical and analytical, it's a great scare read. The peculiar things which happened by these days preferences, seem standard, but if you can throw yourself out of reality into this sub reality as George and Kathy Lutz, you'd find yourself wanting the hell out of that house just as much as they did There is extreme argument on this case and I choose to believe the possibility that those experiences could very well had taken place at 112 Ocean Ave and that Ronnie DeFeo really did hear voices. The Unknown is Spectacularly Interesting
