OUTSTANDING ACTING BY HENRY CELE. Story very well told.

True, there are some chintzy production values. But this is one of the very few programs where both black and white characters are fully imagined and three dimensional.
The whites aren't ignorant, racist conquerers, and the blacks are far from simple savages.
Under Shaka's leadership, they came as near as dammit to conquering all of southern Africa, and tossing white settlers, not to mention rival tribes, into the ocean. "Shaka Zulu" doesn't take sides.
And Henry Cele as Shaka will scare the crap out of you, as he should. If you like history, or the "Flashman" series, this is for you.
